Rays of Joy — Aicha Wassef

We started our journey with our Hamsa Peace Education Programme in 2012. Our vision is: To assist young learners expand their skills, develop their character, instill human ethics and values, and to equip them with an awareness of their limitless potential. Over the years, the outcome became so tangible and life-changing for everyone and this led to the initiation of Rays of Joy as an extension of the Hamsa Peace Education Programme.

The RAYS OF JOY PROGRAMME is our most special activity for this year. It is our wonderful journey together as parents, children, and educators. We are proud to mention that this will be our fifth year where peace culture prevails at our New Horizon International School. RAYS OF JOY modules take our children to another level of realization of their potential. Each module equips them with life learning skills and techniques to assume connection in a responsible way, strengthen their personal abilities, maintain their wellbeing, and inevitably focus on being all they can be as global citizens and ambassadors for humanness in all aspects of life.

Our team of mentors and facilitators worked with our students from October through December and the programme continues through April 2019.

This semester, our students experienced what it means to be RESPONSIBLE – they discovered their ability of CHOICE and possibilities – they appreciated the importance of WELLBEING on a physical, mental and emotional level – and, in their quest, students developed the skill of expression and explored their CREATIVE potential.

With gratitude, I thank our mentors, facilitators and parents for making this possible for our young learners; the world will most definitely benefit from your sincere efforts. We are proud to share documentation of this journey with you; may you enjoy and share the joy.
