Psychotherapy and Counseling is the process of resolving problematic behaviors, limiting beliefs, painful feelings, relationship issues, and somatic responses. Psychotherapy is the method through which a series of techniques are used to manage behavioural, emotional and mental challenges. It helps individuals undergoing therapy to understand their thinking patterns. Establishing positive attitudes and realistic approaches, and reinforcing healthy grounds for turning challenges to healthy experiences, are some of the benefits of Psychotherapy. 

Psychotherapy is mainly used to initiate healing through alleviating psychological distress.  It does not, however, in severe cases stand on its own as a treatment for all mental disorders. It is a very effective method which allows the expression of feelings and to receive support on how to respond to challenging situations through healthy coping skills. During sessions, individuals would receive insight on why they feel this way, and get a chance to review the various options to deal with the issues at hand.  The awareness of individual patterns that do not serve one, and personal assets that are conducive comes to the forefront.  Mastering the “use” of different tools and different styles is the essence of success of Psychotherapy. 

Methods and techniques used in Psychotherapy can be helpful with anxiety disorders, depression, quality of sleep, eating disorders, personality problems, and work or family related issues. Awareness, compassion, courage and freedom will inevitably be the result of successful psychotherapeutic sessions, and with this, major changes can happen and imbalances can be corrected for a well-rounded life experience.
